Mississippi

We are stopped at Vicksburg, Ms. We stayed at this campground about 2007 for a Yars rally. Nice campground not to far of the I 20. Tomorrow we will head to TX. Figure on stopping somewhere between the state line and Dallas. Not sure if we can make it to Donna the next day or not. Sure will be glad to get there so we can relax and not have to get up so early every morning. So far the weather has been good It is 64 degrees here at 8:15 Have wifi here Makes it nice. And pretty cheap too. We went to a Mexican restaurant tonight. The food was good but the waiter was terrible. After he brought to food never saw him till we were ready to leave. I had to ask another waiter for some to go boxes and then the guy brought the bill. Didn't get much tip. Well guess that's about it for tonight  Linda have a safe trip south. Later all Ron Thelma and Eli on the road to the valley

  1. I used to have some business cards that said "The tip would have been bigger if the service had been better." I would leave one of those with a penny on the card if the service was not very good. Enjoy your trip.

  2. Ron, it used to take us 5 days driving hard to get from SE Michigan to Donna TX. We did not take the route you are, we took I 69 to I 70 west. To I57 and 55 south to I 40west. Then, we took different routes, one of which was I 35 south to San Antonio, etc.

It was 2.5 days from SE Michigan to the Arkansas/Texas border and 2.5 days from Tx border to Donna.

Enjoy the Rio Grande Valley and Happy New Year.

  3. I have been following your progress and have tried to post comments, but keep getting kicked off. Anyways you still are a long way from Donna, about 400 miles from Houston. Don't push it, take a day off somewhere and relax. Don Monce bought a MH and is heading for Texas, but I don't know where.

  4. I like Paul's idea. I always think that if I leave a small tip, they will just think that I am not a big tipper. Like the idea of 64 at that time of morning.

  5. Sounds like each day is getting a little warmer. I would agree to not push too hard, although I guess you want to get there and get settled in. Texas is such a huge state, you can drive all day in Texas and still not be to your destination. When we lived in Houston and Dennis' folks were in Brownsville, it was an all day trip to get there.
